Early Edition Media, Inc. is an interactive media company with the focus of making local news and advertising an important component of the Internet. Right now, an estimated $5 billion is spent on local Internet-based advertising. That number is expected to jump to $25 billion over the next five years. EEM is dedicated to building content-rich Internet sites with Long Island flavor and a built-in following. They make an ideal platform for local advertisers.

EEM has an office in Huntington, N.Y., and was founded by Jason Molinet in November 2006. Molinet, 34, spent the last 11 years covering Long Island news and sports as a reporter for Newsday. He brings journalistic values and credibility, along with a strong entrepreneurial vision, to EEM.

Thanks! SPJ is a great group and I've tried to take advantage of as many opportunities as I can.

UM's connections with The Herald continue to grow, which is evident in the number of student working there in various capacities and the number of current and former Herald staffers on faculty. Also, most UM print journalism professors worked at The Herald at some point.

Your boys at the Park actually beat Clearwater for a hoops title this year. You can hold your head high. And about my paper, yeah, it's slow going when it comes to figuring out this blogging thing. It should complement the coverage, not be the early filing of a story.

Thanks for the encouraging words. As Greg did, I should introduce myself as well. I'm the copy editing chief for The Miami Hurricane.

Canes should definitely stick together.

Thanks, I still have another year but I'd appreciate any advice.
