Live Reported News For Twittering Reporters

My second live blogpost via CoverItLive.com. I covered Hubdub, a news forecasting tool that helps editors get an idea of what the public at large expects will be the outcome of the news. And a story about the perils of over using text messaging and Twitter tools; a psychiatrist says it leads to psychotic behavior that goes undetected for ages and cannot be treated. Read it here.

Coveritlive - Live Blogging In Action!

I've come across a brilliant tool for live reporting on your blog. You can upload videos and photos but this tool's absolute greatest feature is that it allows you to live blog your written texts. See it in action here and please leave your comments! Also check back tomorrow for my new 'show'. This is going to be a full blown box office success no matter what!

What ReporTwitters Should Do With Seesmic's Twitter Enabled Video Messaging

Seesmic is a new company in beta testing that ruins all pyjama dreams. It engages you with the outside world so much, you simply are forced to smear that lick of paint on your face and look bright and happy when you work from home. Seismic is a video tool that makes your communications effective in ways that regular IM, SMS and email simply can’t. What's more, you can upload your personal videos directly on Twitter. The site was set up by… Continue

How Do You Measure 'Conversation'? Adweek Asked The Top Experts

A new article in Adweek describes advertising executives' opinions on the value of 'conversation'. The word Twitter was ominously absent throughout the article but nevertheless a goldmine of information was unveiled about how the top ad agencies deal with the more abstract forms of chattering; the interactions taking place on social networks like MySpace and Facebook. If you don't have a lot of time, read these answers by agencies quoted to the question "How Do You Measure Conversation?"… Continue

What News Media Who Use Twitter 'One Way Only' Miss Out On

There are many news organizations around the globe that send out headlines and links to full stories on Twitter. But they are missing out on a vital element; an interactive conversation with readers. Journalists that Twitter personally about their professional lives know first hand, as do many bloggers, that Twitter is all about conversation. The potential is huge for driving noticeable traffic to websites by actively Twittering about what you're writing about. That is why it… Continue

Hey there - I think you posted a comment on my page asking about ReportingOn. The Twitter piece of it is a sort of proof-of-concept at the moment: Tweet the answer to "What are you reporting on?" @reportingon and follow @reportingon to see what everyone else is working on.

ReportingOn will launch in fall 2008 as a standalone social network for beat reporters, with the goal of connecting journalists of all stripes working on similar topics, no matter where they are.

Hi Angelique!

Welcome to WJ - I've enjoyed reading ReporTwitters - I'm heavily involved in a project right now that's an attempt to apply everything that works about Twitter as a social network to connecting reporters working the same topical beat.
