Journal Gazette goes on Facebook

Kudos to The Journal Gazette of Fort Wayne, Ind. and it's young staff. They launched JG&Me on Facebook and update it regularly. I'd love to know how it's going. How many people are viewing the posts and how many are going to the JG Web site after reading the stories they post? I do know they are making an attempt to reach out to a younge… Continue

Newsday

Sorry it's been a couple weeks since my last post...I'm trying to master ActionScript 3 right now and, on top of that, I've got that 40-hour-a-week job in Anderson. Today, I'd like to share with you www.newsday.com Newsday is a news site for Long Island and New York City, so it's not exactly an uncommon or a small news company, but its Web site is very well put together, presenting a lot of information in a way that's easy to digest and interactive. In the multimedia section alone, I browsed through a three-dimensional map of the city of Atlanta that pointed you to businesses throughout Atlanta. There's a place to share photos and view a playlist of vide… Continue

The inaugural post

The inaugural post....the dreaded introduction.
I hope to use this blog to inform others about great uses of multimedia and interactivity on media Web sites. Also, I want to talk about some other sites and how what they are using applications that can be applied to media sites.
So far, I have a short list of sites that I've used for inspiration.

Jessica, welcome to WJ.

Wired Journalists is a network of professional (or plan on being professional) journalists.

Part of being professional is tell us who you are.

There's no reason not to use your full, real name in WJ. It will lend credibility to your contributions, provide an avenue for career advancement, and help you understand better what being a wired journalist is all about.

So, please, take a few minutes and update your profile with your full, real name.

Thanks.
