- I'm co-owner and idea generator for one of the nation's oldest hyperlocal news companies. Fulton Daily News.com opened on Tax Day 1999 and its sister publication opened a year later. We're tiny (2 journalists, 2 salespeople, a webmaster), independent (no paper or TV to feed us), and alternately struggling and successful on our own terms. We're fighting at the lowest rung of the media ladder -- small towns -- with cheap tools and heart. We're kinda stuck in Web 1.0 and aiming for better.
