It's worth noting that two issues of The Convergence Newsletter came out in June (we got a bit behind in May).
In the May-June issue, we take a look at online community and some of the work needed to create a successful site.
In the June issue, we have excellent material on convergence internationally, especially pieces by Fulbright Scholar Alice Klement and one of her students about how technology redefines teaching convergence in Ethiopia.

Nostos – Homecoming. It’s a literary troupe familiar to those who have studied classical Greek literature. To those who are not, it’s the root word of nostalgia.
I’m traveling back home for Christmas by bus, and when I look out the window at the familiar scenes I have known since childhood, bleached white by the low winters sun, I feel a cramp in my stomach that I cannot fully blame on travel sickness. An hour of bumpy travel, inducing a sickness that will not leave me for the rest of the day,… Continue

Of all inventions, the spork has to be thought of as one of the most endearing inventions of the past fifty years. It’s design is a hymn to the utilitarian needs of the common man.
According to the New York Times Hyde W.Ballard filed an application to register spork as a trademark for a combination of spoon and fork made of stainless steel, although there is no longer any record of this application at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Sporks are used primarily in fast food restaur… Continue

After looking around for a while, I think I have found the easiest and most reliable way to record a phone conversation.
