Someone has thought it was OK to pay me to do this for about 30 years. Currently, I cover crime, courts and legal affairs, but I've worked about every beat in a newsroom. I serve on the board of the Society of Professional Journalists and contribute to a blog about my experiences in multimedia - being an old guy learning new tricks.
Hi there again Ron,
That´s cool! Thanks for the mentioning and let me know if you embark on more Twitter based reporting - I´d be interested in tracking your experiences.
Regards,
Angelique
Hi Sylvester,
Great you joined my reportwitters group! Did you find out about this hugely useful tool at Coveritlife.com yet? It's brilliant for live reporting on your blog. You can upload videos and photos but this tool's absolute greatest feature is that it allows you to live report written texts. Plus it's fully embeddable much the same way as YouTube videos. Ok, I see that you're on Twitter - will follow you there.
Cheers,
Angelique
Hi,
I read your comment about Twitter. If you're interested in 'conversational' social media/microblogging issues, check out the reportwitters group that I have just created on this platform and on http://twitter.com/newsroom. There are over 80 of us and I am trying to get some twittering journalist collaborations going. We're also on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=824064048.
Check out the "New to multimedia" group - I'm sure you can offer some great tips to reporters getting handed cameras and microphones for the first time.
